Stale moves, or move staling, is a game mechanic in Indie Game Battle.
Move staling makes a character's attacks weaker if used multiple times in a row. When a move is used it's added to a queue that counts the last 10 moves a character used. The higher up (more recent) the move is, the more it counts. If the move shows up in the queue more than once, that will also add onto the staling.
Move staling affects jab, tilts, smash attacks, aerials, and throws.
Staled moves affect the following traits:
- The stale moves queue is reset when a character is KO'd. So all moves are fresh upon respawning.
- Move staling is being added in the coming v2.1 update.
